![]() ![]() “‘We were really inspired by the spirit of the original series, especially the sense of exploration and adventure,’ explained Craig Bolin, Senior Game Designer at YesGnome. The game also features narration by the one and only George Takei, the original music from the series, and a user interface based on the iconic LCARS (Library Computer Access/Retrieval System) system. “Set within the original Star Trek universe, players will encounter familiar characters and locations from Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation, as well as all new crew members, aliens, and mysterious planets to explore. The game, Star Trek Trexels, is set within the original Star Trek universe and will feature characters and locations from both the original series and The Next Generation. I'm not spending money on a cute try at a Harry Potter RPG that ended up being a mobile expansion pack for The Sims 3.A new mobile game for iPhone, iPad, and the iPod touch will be of interest to Star Trek fans. If at any point I'm forced to get a certain number of stars for a task that requires more energy than I can reload in the given time limit, I'm immediately uninstalling the app. I've yet to come to a point where I physically could not continue without spending money, but I'm only on chapter 5 of year 1, and I can only imagine it'll get worse from here. ![]() Energy cannot cost this much when it's the main currency of the game. Even their biggest "get gems" offer, the House Cup, only offers you maybe five minutes of continuous energy. You could end up easily spending thousands on this game. I mean, come on, it takes 20 gems to refill 10 energy? And you only get 25 gems for a dollar? That's far too much money to ask for an in-game currency that's a necessity to continue. My issue with the game is not the F2P trap itself, but that it requires fairly large amounts of gems for how much they offer for real money. I hope we do get a decent Harry Potter game one day. This is sad to see and even worse is the fact that some people seem to be spending A LOT of money on this game so that it tops the sales charts. (Youtube Angry Joe Star Trek Trexels and you will understand) Pushing awful mechanics and a bland story with a ridiculous amounts of timers and paywalls onto players in the hope for cash from fans. It seems no real improvement has been made and this is still a massive cash in for fans of Harry Potter. This worked out at $1 per minute of gameplay. Working out that ONE chapter of year 2 it required someone to purchase 585 gems to basically speed through that chapter at a normal pace. Namely Removing the insanely grindy and awful experience the game was from really the Devils Snare onwards. ![]() So i wrote a review on here a few days before the release giving a fairly negative overall opinion of the game but hoping the devs would actually maybe release it in an alright state. ![]()
